I had the same issue. The #1 issue was the program breaking my brake control in jets (had to reassign every time – annoying as hell).

Fixed that by simply restoring the backup the program made when I first ran it.
After the last patch, DICE “fixed” the hard braking, it is no longer possible (as far as I know).

#2 Issue is when assigning buttons for the xbox joypad (I use a wired one too), it assigns gibberish that doesn’t correspond to the buttons that BF3 assigns. As far as I know this is an internal bug in the settings editor.

So for those who want to bind Xbox 360 wired pads or use hard breaking, I think we’re outta luck until these guys find a way to fix it.

No one of this site has been around since January. And telling from the archives, that’s not normal. I think this project may have been scrapped. That or the fixes that are needed are so complex, it’s taking a while.

Well after reading some comments it seems people are having the same issue as me. I fly vehicles with a hard wired xbox 360 controller. Everytime I go into a new server I have to go into controls and re assign the correct button for it. That’s issue #1. Issue #2 is when I open up the Battlefield 3 Settings Editor and go to Key Bindings>Jet and then assign for Heavy Brake it for some reason is assigning the incorrect button. I am using the left trigger, which should be trigger 1, but it is actually stating that button is Axis Z +. Hopefully you guys will have it fixed, I have faith hopefully lol.

When I had BF3 editor before this most recent release, I never had to open it. Once I set my keybinds (jet keybinds for breaking) I would close out of it, and never have to open the editor and yet it would always apply in game. Now it seems that in order for the keybindings to take effect in game, I have to have the editor open before I go into game. Is this new or is there something I can do to change it so I don’t have to open the program each time?

Simple fix for the time being until new version to handle the issue, is released…

Remove the file PROF_SAVE_profile in your Battlefield 3 Settings folder, typically located in (For Win7 users):

C:\Users\\Documents\Battlefield 3\settings

Once you remove that file you go into the Profiles folder located in the same directory and open the profile you saved using the settings editor, or the backup of the profile you had before using the settings editor.

Now that’s done… the issue is where you run the settings editor and modify the settings, then afterwards change a setting whilst in-game. The editor can’t handle the modification of the setting in the profile as it wasn’t in use when you altered that setting in-game.

After new patch of BF3 the setting editor isn’t working any longer. Is there a reason it is not working? Maybe you guys could help to understand why it isn’t working any longer. I really love the little program. BF3config utility that I tried give me the same problem.

now that I red all the responses above..figured its the patch’s fault that heavy brakes aren’t working ..oh well.. i hope u guys planning a new release

Hello,
thx for the great software, I have a question in regards to using it. After installing and adding “lctrl” for the heavy brake. in game it pops out in the keybind settings but when I get in the air with jet… the only thing that works is still only light brake, and lctrl assigned by me doesnt respond as heavybreak
please advise
